Spyderco Yurco Ginunting

Mickey Yurco is an accomplished custom knifemaker with more than four decades of experience. His first collaboration with Spyderco presents a distinctive interpretation of the Filipino ginunting design. The name derives from the word gunting, meaning scissors, and refers to a traditional Filipino blade pattern. Its concave profile supports controlled cutting performance. The Yurco Ginunting translates these qualities into a compact, modern rendition crafted from 9Cr18MoV stainless steel. Its full-flat-ground blade balances edge geometry and strength, while the harpoon-style swedge contributes to its distinctive profile. The full-tang handle features contoured, polished G-10 scales secured by eight sets of stainless-steel Torx fasteners. It also includes an integral lower guard, a lined lanyard hole, and a flared fantail butt for a stable grip during use. This modern interpretation of a classic cultural pattern includes a custom-molded Boltaron sheath with a belt mount.
